Groundbreaking Photocaged Orexin-B Peptide Unveiled for Precision Control of Orexin Signaling

Revolution in Orexin Signaling Control

Loïc Duffet, Masaya Harada, and the Patriarchi Lab publish pioneering findings on controlling orexin signaling using a novel photocaged orexin-B peptide.

The study, published in Cell Chemical Biology, details the creation and use of a photocaged orexin-B peptide (photoOXB), made possible through an innovative C-terminal photocaging strategy. PhotoOXB, compatible with fluorescent biosensor imaging, can precisely control orexin receptor signaling with light, in vitro and ex vivo. This novel development promises potential therapeutic implications and new directions in neuropeptide research.
