REM sleep in a giraffe

Four giraffes can be seen on this video. The animal to the right at the back, had been sleeping in a recumbent posture. It suddenly stretches its neck and goes into the posture typical for REM sleep and remains in REM sleep for 1-2.5 minutes.

Upon close inspection you can see that the ears twitch from time to time during the REM sleep episode.

The video is played at 8 x normal speed.
