Behavioral sleep in Dscheladas in the zoo (2)

It is amazing that Dscheladas can obtain their sleep in a sitting posture. In the wild, they sit on ledges in the cliffs.

In the Zoo they huddle on their "sleeping board". Four individuals are visible initially: the adult male to the left, and two infants huddled behind their mothers and visible at the end, when the group wakes up.

The animals usually face the wall and the head rests on the chest. When the profiles are visible, as in the video, you can observe that the head gradually drops unto the chest and the animal suddenly rightens its head, until the head drops again.

The male in the video (left) is resting its head on the back of the female next to him.
