Behavioral REM sleep in sheep |
|
|
Sheep spend a large part of the day drowsing in a sphinx- like posture.
From time to time they stretch their necks and rest the head on the
ground.
In this posture phasic aspects of REM sleep such as eye movements, twitches of the ears and the legs can be observed. |
